Why did we choose to join international platforms on corporate ethical values?
Here at Alfrus, one of the main goals is to ensure a supply chain that complies with appropriate standards of legality and sustainability. This is why we chose to join qualified systems of suppliers control. Specifically we are talking about the international SEDEX and EcoVadis platforms, of which we have just obtained the relative renewals.
Our choice reflects the conviction that the corporate ethic is not just a value to proclaim but also to demonstrate and test, in every supply node and each relationship of the corporate life.
How does this data updating work?
It is a procedure that involves annually several business areas that are called to fill out questionnaires and provide data. At the end of this accurate work of data collection and analysis, the control platforms verify the level of commitment demonstrated by the company concerning the following areas:
– Human Rights
– Safety at work
– Environmental respect
– Sustainable supply chain
SEDEX is a collaborative platform of ethical data, which we have joined since 2018 and which allows us to store, share and create specific reports on many information about our supply chain. With over 50 thousand members in 155 countries, with Sedex we can verify the compliance of our partners, customers, suppliers and accounts auditors with the principles of legality, workers’ rights, health, safety, environment and corporate ethics. And our partners can do the same with us.
Since 2020 we have also been members of EcoVadis, one of the main international platforms in terms of corporate ethical and sustainable responsability, which has awarded us the EcoVadis Silver Medal, thanks to the overall score achieved by Alfrus.
“The advantages of joining these platforms – explains Dorella Ruscigno, Head of the Quality System of Alfrus’ headquarter in Bari – are in terms of guarantees that we can offer to those who choose us, reputation, a governance oriented to legality and a business ethics focused on transparency”.
But joining these ethical platforms is not the only commitment undertaken in terms of ethical behavior and social responsability, as evidenced by the ISO14001 Certification and the Organisation and Management Model in accordance with the Legislative Decree No. 231/2001
